Employers Mutual Limited was appointed last week as the new claims management company for workers compensation claims by the South Australian government. Unlike companies that have managed the state’s WorkCover claims in the past, Employers Mutual specialises in workers compensation claims management. “WorkCover has a comprehensive plan in place to inform employers, injured workers and other stakeholders about the changes”, said Industrial Relations Minister Michael Wright. “There is no need for employers or injured workers to change what they are doing at this stage, and they can expect WorkCover to contact them to explain the transition to the new system.” Under the change, Employers Mutual will undertake WorkCover’s claims management services, replacing Vero, Allianz, CGU and QBE.
